Thursday Think Tank--Improving my Workspace
12:54 PM
For this week's Thursday Think Tank with Rebecca Lynne, I'm just going to post a picture of something that's been in the back of my mind for a long time.
Moving my sewing machine from here:
I like the red dining table. LOVE it, in fact. It was my husband's grandparents'. They bought it new in 1951. His mom ate at it as a little girl. It makes me happy to sit there, BUT... all of my things keep it covered up most of the time, and our dining room is always a mess. It would be so nice to walk in the house and not have that mess be the first thing we see. It would be a lot more relaxing if it were all clean, and fun if we could eat at it once in a while.
Remember when I blogged about redoing our spare bedroom/computer space, painting, etc?
Well, I think there is room on the opposite wall for this little beauty.. In fact, I think it is the perfect size for the space. :) AND the good news is, it is under $100 at IKEA.

It is just so clean and white and crisp! It is calling me to sew. I want, I want, I want. haha
So that's it.. I've been daydreaming about a sewing space. I did manage to make two hexie flowers last night but no photos yet. I want to make some more first. I was off of them for 2 or 3 weeks, but fell off the wagon last night, and now I am hooked again!! Pics tomorrow.
(that was my reward for cleaning the living room last night.. like rearrange the furniture/vacuum behind things/dust the shutters cleaning. UGH... after that it was watch TV/make hexies time. :o)
Go dive into the Think Tank and link up with Rebecca Lynne. :)

Just think of the fun you could have rearranging the space to suit you and your new table - it looks like it would make a great sewing table...good luck!!
Love the new table! And the old table for that matter. Definitely stop covering it up with sewing stuff. Have fun 'moving and rearranging'.
Your blog rocks sis!
Great idea! You will wonder why you didn't do it sooner!
That'll be nice to get your lovely table back and have a fab new sewing space :)
KELLI - that new ikea table is awesome. I have an ikea table as a sewing table too...but it wasn't originally purchased that way so it is a tad awkward. But, this one? Gorgeous! Can't wait to see it all done...
Both the tables are lovely but it would be great if you could use the red one for dinner and the new one for sewing.
The Ikea table looks great! How exciting - a wonderful new sewing area.
the Ikea table looks good and that red table is gorgeous!! Won't it be brilliant to show it off more and make a nice table runner and/or placemats for your red dinning table!! ;)
