Thursday Think Tank--New Hexie Project?
8:09 PM
I have been a hexie makin' fool lately. It's no secret. I'm hooked. I have a quilt planned in my head and everything. But a new idea popped into my head, threatening to slow down the momentum I have going for the planned quilt. It came about after making the tiny hexie flowers.
Wouldn't this make a cute throw pillow? Brown is one of my favorite colors..(is that weird?) I just love the dark browns and the deep brown center.. looks like a button.
I love the dimension of the two stacked on top of each other. Now this opens up a new door for my quilt plan. Make some of them dimensional?
*Sigh* That means I'll need even more of these little babies. But I kind of love them...

They do look cute together. You might have to do it!
I like the dimensional look!
my mother made a hexie quilt with smaller hexies on it just like this. She left the outer edges of the small hexies free...as in not stitched down. I remeber when I was sick I would flick the loose edges of the small hexies and it drove my mother crazy.
Wow.....they look fantastic...they are addictive...
What a neat idea and gorgeous hexies. Nothing wrong with the browns - they come in so many shades and are very luxurious looking (and remind one of chocolate and coffee which is even better). I'd love to see what you do with these hexie ideas :-)
what a great idea Kelli, they look fab in the fabrics that you'e used
I like the small on top of the large. Look forward to seeing what you do with them.
An excellent idea, so beautiful!!!!
Gorgeous! You definitely should make a quilt from them - they'd also make lovely cushions, very tactile. I also LOVE brown, it's a great colour :)
Very cute! Which two sizes are you using again?
Looking forward to seeing what you will create!
Looks awesome!
I'm new follower!
Excellent idea! Not a brown fan but a big hexy fan!!
I love the effect of the laying! I would say the extra work would be worth it.
I love your project. hugs from Italy
cute idea
I am SO excited you stopped by my blog and followed...I am following you back and happy to get to know a fellow cancer survivor too!
Hi Kelli! I think the dimensionals look terrific! I suspect this will require more effort, but the outcome would be awesome!
I admire your gumption. I attempted two quilts in my life but they never panned out. I love the idea behind quilting and the end products are always sensational. I'm giving back the follow love and I'll be checking back to see more things you do better than me:)
Love your halloween countdown and blog!
Following you from the Weekend hop.

Hi Kelli - thanks for stopping by my blog at mamas*little*treasures. I love your quilt project . . . I've done some quilting in the past, and I love to do crazy patch quilting, but more recently I've been doing reconstruction and refashion projects. Will be posting them on my blog this next week, so I hope you'll stop by and take a peek ;o) Also, I would like to invite you to visit our online Christian women's community at www.rubyforwomen.ning.com where you could share some of your quilting ideas with our other crafty members. Lots to learn, thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt project. Hope to see you again soon, Nina @ mamas*little*treasures and Ruby for Women

I really love your hexies, I love how they are turning out!
They are adorable! Those little babies take a looooong time to make though. A good way to keep those fingers busy though ;D Happy crafting!

wow, it would make a really awesome throw pillow! Have you seen those pillow party things? I think there might be several, but it's like a pillow swap or something. Anyways, this makes me wanna join in on one of those!
This is just way too cute! Thanks for visiting my blog. I am now following you on GFC. Love your twitter birdie!
I like your layered flowers :)
OMG too darn cute! What a great idea.
Hi Kelli! These hexagon flowers are so cute! I'm a menace with a needle, but I've always wanted to learn how to sew and make my own clothes. Your blog is really inspiring!
Brown is one of MY favorite colors too! And I thought it was just me... ;) So, you wanna finish my tumbling blocks for me? They are hexies...once you put them together... Bleh.
oh yes! It's a winner!!!
I love your Hexies especially the little ones on top of the big ones.
I have only just started making hexagons and have found them very addictive.
