WIP's & Halloween preview..
4:09 PM
Remember Rebecca's Pouch-A-Long? (PAL).. well, it starts Monday, so today armed with a 30% off coupon, I finally settled on these:
I am thinking that if it turns out okay, it may be a Christmas gift for a certain member of the family, who doesn't read blogs. ;o) I have some ideas, but nothing set in stone. I'm not a pattern drafter, so I'm a little worried about designing the pattern around my frame, but I'll give it a go. Remember, I got a larger frame with black snapper:
I also picked up a curved needle and some green floss.. Hmm.. Hope it turns out like it is in my head.
I also picked up a brown solid for the background for my meandering hexie project. That may or may not be a gift for someone, if it gets finished in time. I think I'm done making hexies, though. It is going to be a small lap size quilt. Here it is laying out in the living room floor:
I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the dark brown background, but I like it. I am thinking that a border might be nice, too, out of the leftover fabrics. A piano key border or something.
In pre-school-y news.. their little carnival was yesterday morning, and they all wore their costumes. A. wore his pants and hat, but is saving the top and mittens for Halloween. Thought the long sleeve tee would be more comfy for school.
Is everyone ready for Halloween?
Happy Saturday!!

Hexie quilt is looking great! I look forward to seeing the purse take shape! :)
Kelli- thank you very much for stopping by. I am following your blog as well. :)
Thanks for the info on Frame Pouch-along. I guess I just found this at the perfect timing and asked Rebecca if I still could join. I hope so because it will be my very first sew-along.
Your hexies look great. I can't wait to see the final project. :)
Love your fabric for the framed purse! You've just reminded me I need to purchase a curved needle. Look forward to seeing what you create.
Lots of fun here - good luck with those hexies going where you want them - they look good on the dark background.
Have a happy Halloween - cute costume for your little man.
Love the halloween costume on the little fella, also love the hexies. They are starting to be a passion of mine.
The quilt is going to be awesome! You must have a lot of patience!
The name of your blog is one of my top 10 faves of all time! I'm still chuckling at it. And I love your countdown to Halloween.
I looked to follow via a follower gadget, but none materialized, so I went to the very top of the blog and followed via the link next to the search block.
Please stop by and say hi.
Love your black and white fabrics with that green! I'll check back for progress as I don't know about the PAL.
And you are finished with hexies? For good?... or just this project? I like the brown background... makes the hexies pop.
Your little guy is cute in his costume... ah, I remember those days. My "little guy" is 6'6" these days, though!
You certainly have some cuties there.
My family is always stepping over my project in the floor of the dinning room....don't ya just love it???
I'm really liking the dark brown background the the Hexi quilt. And your kids are so cute! I am frantically trying the find the right trim for a Halloween-themed table runner. Afraid :) I will get it done only in the nic of time!
Your kiddos are adorable! :)
I'm following you from the blog hop today and would love it if you'd stop in and check me out at Jenn's RAQ!
I'm your newest follower.
This is a seriously cute little guy. :) I'd love to know - what is the Pouch Along? blessings, marlene
Oh dear, I'm regretting stopping by now - a pouch along you say... :oD
The hexies are looking intriguing, looking forward to seeing what happens with them (although reading down on other posts 1/2" or 1/4"? Are you nuts?! :oD )
Cute costume too
Thanks for your blog comment - I like your Newfie, too! Big fluffy dogs are the best (and your little Goofy is pretty cool ...).
That brown background is very rich looking for your hexies. Lookin' good!
