WIP Wednesday
5:09 PM
I feel like I haven't been able to get much done lately. It has just been such a hectic couple of months. Just been stitching along here and there. So I thought I would write a true WIP post, in hopes of motivating myself to soldier on and finish these items. Also gonna link up with W.I.P. Wednesday @ Freshly Pieced. I need to get out of this funk I've been in!!
WIP #1
A quilt I started a few months ago, at my husband's request.. he saw it in a book. I cut all of the triangles completely out of scraps. Nothing purchased for it, except for a couple of neutral FQ's for the background.
My design wall consisted of some batting tacked to my dining room wall. We had company staying and it got taken down and rolled up, and is waiting for me to get back to it and sew up the blocks.
WIP#2
The pouch from the Pouch-A-Long with Rebecca Lynne .. I have actually been stitching on this one in the evenings, sewing the frame to the pouch. But I can't decide whether to ditch it and start over. I'm not completely satisfied.
WIP#3
This one is actually calling out to me tonight. I really want to start stitching my hexie layout together so that I can applique it onto its background. I think it will be really unique when it is finished. I'm loving it.
WIP #4
I am starting to get the hand quilting bug again, also. It comes in waves. I am halfway done with this quilt, and I'm sure once I get going again, it won't take that long to finish. I originally blogged about it HERE.
WIP#5
And then there are these blocks which I've blogged about recently.
Oh boy.. I have my work cut out for me. Not to mention...
WIP #6
Finish carving a sewing space for myself out of our spare bedroom/office.
ACK! I'd better get going on some of these things. I feel like a great big slacker!!
Happy Wednesday!

That's a long list! You better get off this computer and get busy. Looks like a lot of fun stuff happening.
I keep a wips, ufo, and done section on my blog to help keep me interested in stuff. Unfortunately, I keep adding more wips, which pushes more stuff to the ufos, which.... ah, you know how it goes.
You can do it! I have also had to link up to get some motivation to actually finish all the WIP's! Sometimes that's what it takes. That and meeting with my sewing group every Tuesday. A few hours of nothing but sewing and with no phone calls interrupting me constantly. You are doing great--looking forward to seeing some finished projects soon:)
The hexie project is my favourite! Looks really interesting!
Honestly, I think we all got alot more done before we had computers!!! Sometimes I don't know where the time goes! You sure do have alot of WIP's!! Good Luck!
I don't think there's anyone holding a gun to your head to be finished anything by a certain date, so just go with the flow, and make what you like, or you'll end up hating everything! Loving the look of those hexies though, so, selfishly, I'd say go with that ;o)
You certainly do have a lot on the go at the one time. It would be a shame to ditch the framed purse after you've come this far. Love the blocks (is that what they're called?) for WIP #5. Look forward to seeing the hexies finished.
WOW! That's a lot of triangles... :) I guess you better get cracking! LOL

Each of those projects is wonderful and each different, for every mood. I hope you have fun working on them all.
No need to make yourself feel bad about having a few WIPs. You have a very busy full life and sometimes other things take priority. All of your projects are wonderful and very worthy of completion. Maybe just tackle one at a time - start with the one that is inspiring you the most at the moment and I am pretty sure they will all make it to the completed list fairly quickly! Quilting is supposed to be fun and make you feel good - not burden you!!
Volunteer to host a tgiffriday.blogspot.com - that will give u a deadline to work towards!
That pouch looks great! I need to try them soon
With all that going on, and a family too, there's no real slacking going on. All those projects look great! Looking forward to seeing your sewing space when you're done!
Your Christmas countdown up there may have just caused me a little bit of panic, yikes! And I'll just say that I really love your little frame pouch, even if you're not feeling it :)
Oh goodness. That is a lot of hexies!!! Good luck with all of your WIPs.
A hubby that requests a quilt!!?? What a novel idea. ;-)
Wow, you have been busy, and looks like you will continue to be very busy! That's a long list. :)
WOW! Lots of great projects! I love the hubby quilt!
Wow... you'll be one busy lady with all those projects. So many nice things but I love your blue/orange blocks.
I enjoy making framed purses, too. Your is coming along great.
You can do it! I love the challenge you have given yourself of making your husband's quilt completely from fabrics you already have in your stash! What a stashbuster this will be for you. I wish you well on the hand-sewing.
No need to feel like a slacker at all! And the pouch looks great, I'd leave it as it is!
Wow, that's a lot of WIPs! But if I looked in all my bins, I probably have that many if not more!
I know the feeling, just have to take one thing at a time and enjoy the moments. That hexie project looks especially nice and you are making me want to give hand sewing a try.
I love your pouch, I hope you can fix it to your liking!
Wow! Any of these can come live at my house...they're so pretty and will be awesome when finished!
wow, loads of WIP the hexagons are lovely, fabric is gorgeous
I love that I am participating in the WIP each week. It does keep me motivated to keep on working.....I know I need things to take photos of each week!
Yes, looks like you have lots to do. I had a craft room until I let my daughter and her 5 children move in with us. I had to give it up for the 3 girls to have a bedroom. I love them all, but really wish they would find their own place...and soon!
Wow - that a daunting list - but I'm suer you'll get there :)
The problem with my WIP lists, is that no sooner do I cross something off, than I discover it has grown again!
I hear you on the feeling overwhelmed and swamped. And I just keep wanting to start more projects...
It's an addiction. I know it is....
I want to make one of the framed clutches, I've never attempted one. I need one..... Yeah, it's an addiction.
I'm impressed by how much you have going on! And I love your blog design! And your blog is snowing!!! It's all I can do to just keep a blog update!
I really like how you are laying out you hexie quilt. Beautiful
I feel the same way as you, not getting a lot done but strangely enough when you lay it all out for WIP Wednesday you've done a fair bit. Can't wait to see the final hexie top.
SO not a slacker :) I really like your frame pouch, hope you can make it work!
That hexie quilt is amazing! I love your pouch. Slacker, not so much....
You've got a lot going on! Good luck!
I can't wait to see hubby's quilt! Love the idea!
I am a huge fan of hexagon quilts. I am hand sewing one myself, I call it the Ten Year Project. Your layout is great - definitely unique.
Love what you're doing with your hexies--- I have a hexie-thing going too! It will be a multi-year project for me! I think your pouch looks cute. My condolences for the loss of your Aunt. My family and I will join in the prayers for your comfort. Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's nice to meet you
It is good to see I'm not the only with with 44574903 WIP's.
Don't ditch WIP #2, that bag is fabulous looking!
I came by to thank you for becoming a new friend at my blog and for leaving such sweet comments. Oh how I wish I only had 6 WIPS. I would be embarrassed to list all of mine. You can do it girl, you can get them done!
I can see why it is beneficial, you just talked yourself into work mode!! Inspired by all the hard work you have done so beautifully, I better get the whip out and starting cracking it over my own head too. Thanks!!
I feel the same as you! I need to learn to finish a project completely before starting a new one. But where's the fun in that!
You really have a lot on your list, but you're not alone, mine is nearly as long as yours.
WOW a hubby that asks for a quilt. Mine still gets quilting and crocheting confused. Now what you mean about your design wall mines in the family room and I often get asked when it is coming down.
LOVE that pouch!
I like your pouch :) & good luck setting up your sewing space
I love hand quilting and your pouch is super gorgeous!
Wow, lots for you to work on! Those orange and blue blocks are really beautiful. Thanks for linking up to WIP Wednesday. : )
Love Love Love the hexies. And I really like the pop of green in your pouch. It's a big list but it's filled with some great projects!
Get the sewing space carved out and the rest will follow easily...so why is my sewing area a total mess? :)
LOVE the hexies.
