FNSI Results

Last time I signed up for Friday Night Sew-In, I completely spaced and forgot about it, but NOT this time!

The Jacks are multiplying..

Had cut my pieces out early for the second UJ block in the Jack Attack QAL @ Lily's Quilts, and am happy to say that I finished it tonight. :)  Only one left to go.  Here is Jack #2.

I really like the blue fabric, it is Ty Pennington Impressions Medallion. I kind of wish I had ordered some more of it.

Block #3 will be made out of these fabrics, I think. I'm curious to see how it will blend in with the other two Jacks.

Overall, I'm happy with how it's shaping up.

Oh, and look what I ordered from Pink Chalk Fabrics, it came today (so fast!):

Lily Ashbury Trade Winds Victoria Tea Party.  At first I thought it might work for the backing, but I don't know what I was thinking, b/c now, it seems a little busy for this quilt..  and the blue isn't quite right.. but it would be so perrrfect!  Tea cups and Union Jacks.  But it's okay, I am still in LOVE with it, and it was even on sale!  So I'm sure I will find something to do with it--even if it's just to pet and swoon over it.  Maybe it will get it's own Jack Attack top, with coordinating colors.

Well, it's almost midnight here, so off I go.  Just wanted to post my progress report now, in case I didn't have time tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by! Have a great weekend. Looking forward to surfing the FNSI links to see what everyone else worked on. :)

xoxo

Love your Jacks.... Great FNSI.
I think the tea cup fabric would be fine for the backing of your Jack quilt. Dosn't have to be exact for a backing......

Those Union Jacks look awesome! Love the contrast. Looking forward to the final product.

Your Jacks are looking wonderful!

You've almost got a union of them there (I kill me ;o) )

That backing would be PERFECT! Brilliant job with the first two BTW

I love tea-themed fabrics. Of course, I have a real problem with actually cutting into them!

So cool! Lovin' the Union Jacks! One of these days when I don't have so many projects......

Love the great Union Jacks! That would have been the perfect backing. Maybe it will still work out.

Thank you for inviting me to visit your blog...you work hard, and with short people, too! On a completely unrelated note - your shelfari alerted me to the fact that Octonauts books exist!! You have no idea how happy my Pixie will be to find an Octonaut book under the Christmas tree. This might make her whole year, as long as she gets the toys she's asked for, too: roller skates, a pink hockey stick (we're Canadian), and a violin. What a list! And you've just helped me ice the cake.

Hi Kelli, Your Union Jacks are so effective! They look great.

I love the jacks! They'll make a terrific quilt. I'll be back to see more :)

love the jacks - they look awesome - despite my husbands' antipodean dislike of all things british (except me of course) i must make one :)

Wow! I'm so impressed. These look so professional. Love them!

those blocks look fantastic! and if i were you, i'd use that teacup fabric for the backing. colors don't always have to match perfectly and i usually think it looks better when they don't!

Hi Kelli! I will be making a Jack attack quilt soon and am gathering fabric. I noticed that your little buildings were all facing the right direction. I mean they are all standing up the right way with none upside down. I was wondering if you needed more fabric for this than just the 1/2 yard that Lynne suggests. I am thinking of using a print that has sort of stripes and I wondered if I needed more, since it's a directional print. THanks so much for your help. And I love your quilt! I'll be moving to London in June from Miami, FL and will wait also to see if I can find any cute fabric there to add to it!
