JACK top is done! .. and a donkey.

My Jack Attack top is DONE!  Yay!! Now onto the quilting part.  For me, that will be the hardest part.. the piecing of it was fun!

Now comes the backing prep.. going with the tea cups.. and some red polka dot for binding.  I have an idea also of how I'd like to quilt it, so we'll see how it turns out. The popular opinion was that even though the tea cups are a diff. shade of blue, they will still work for the backing.  I also emailed my Welsh bestie a pic of the fabric and asked her if she liked it and it was a double thumbs up.  She still doesn't know what I'm doing with it yet, though. She's not a real girly-girl, flowery type so I wanted to make sure she liked it. ;) I love it beyond words, and in case you're not sick of seeing it, I finally got a decent pic of it. *swoon*

Also, ever since I blogged about Reuben the Donkey in my last post, the wheels in my head have been spinning with the possibilities.  After my imagination running wild, and many encouraging comments, I am going to attempt to make him.. er.. HER.  Reubenita.

I also have an idea of how to make her mane really girly.  We'll see if she materializes remotely resembling how she looks in my head.

To Do:

  • Jack backing & quilting
  • Reubenita
  • Swoon binding
  • Quilt labels
  • Scrap cutting

Done:

  • Jack top

*got a new camera the other day, and it has a setting called paint..check out this picture.. it makes my day every time I look at it-lol* :o) Thanks for stopping by. xo

p.s. If you'd like to win a free Reuben pattern, Rebecca Lynne is giving one away right now. :)

Yipee! Top done, only quilting left. Love those teacups. I'm sure 'Rubenetta' will turn out really cute.

Love, love, love your Jack quilt top! I am swooning anything British at the moment, and am pining dreadfully for the bright lights and excitement of London.... Perhaps I should make a Jack quilt to ease the longing? I adore Ric Racs patterns. The three Kinder Girls I made earlier in the year were Ric Rac and I have Little Red Riding Hood patiently waiting her turn, along with a sweet birdy pattern :) will be waiting to see the finished Jack Quilt - cheers Kathy
