WIP's and Squishy Mail

Thank you all so much for all of the Reubenita-love! :)  She was even featured here.  So much fun.   That was my first little stuffed animal, and I think I'm hooked. (I have been challenged by Erin, the mastermind behind Donktober, to make her a boyfriend--the wheels are spinning again..be on the lookout for little Reubenero.)

Since finishing her, though, I've been floundering around trying to get a couple of big projects done.

Progress has been slow, but I did manage to prep approx. 3/4 mile of Swoon binding.

Someday, it will get sewn on.

Jack Attack quilt.. spray basted, and decided to do straight lines since that would be the easiest on my little machine.. it's a big beast of a quilt.  But just might be my most favorite of all time.  Though I seem to make one step forward & two steps back.  Had to rip out almost four rows of quilting due to a big tuck in the back.  UGH.  The spray basting I'm using isn't sticking so well...grr...

Had to take a break from it.  Just for a bit though.. it WILL get done. The lines are about 1.5 in. apart.  I was inspired by Lynne's Jack quilting, and thought this would be the best way for me to go.  Otherwise, I'd probably need to send it out to a long-armer. This is where it's at right this moment, waiting for me to get up the courage to get back to it.

I hope I can get it quilted without any tucks in the back.

I also started a little project with these that I found at Tuesday Morning, for dirt cheap.  Riley Blake Farm Fresh.

..and some squishy mail came!

Yay for bee blocks~thanks Treena-Marie!!  I love it!

And thanks to Sew Justine Sew and Blueberry Park for this sweet Advent Calendar Kit.

Looking forward to sewing it up.

That's all that's happening around here, aside from the regular stuff.. appointments, kindergarten teacher/parent conferences, grocery shopping, board games with the mini-mr., taking the dog swimming, etc.  All that real life stuff.  It's finally cooling off here...

Fall is in the air! Yah!!!

Have a great rest of the week. :)

Wow, Kelli. You are SO busy. I can't believe you accomplish so much. Your blocks are fabulous, your on-going projects are beautiful, and still you have time to do all the shopping and take the dog swimming. Super Woman! That's you.

I love how you photograph your quilt projects ; )

Lots of great projects happening! Love your binding choice for the Swoon quilt (and good Lord, that's a lot of binding hehe!)

Yay for the feature. Awesome! I am definitely looking forward to meeting Reubenero.

And I agree with Kristy - perfect binding choice for Swoon. :)

That sure is a big roll of binding!! Good luck with quilting Jack Attack - I have a little machine too and I'm scared to quilt a lap throw I have!

Kelli you are a busy lady! I hope you get the Jack quilt finished up soon, I'm sure it will turn out fine.
Oh that red spotty binding is just so pretty, I'm sure it will frame the quilt perfect... is that the same fabric as the backing?

Your jacks is looking good too... I can't wait to quilt mine too!
Great job on your progress.. you have been busy for sure!

Oh dear, you need to be careful if you include boyfriends, then you'll need baby ones next ;o)

Good luck finishing your jacks and swoons!

I love your swoon quilt. That is coming along very nicely! Good luck with the straight line quilting. I caved and bought a long arm just for that reason of it being harder to quilt big quilts on my small machine. It looks like you are doing great though! Good luck!

Your Swoon is going to be so fantastic Kelli! Love the Jack Attack too. I wouldn't want to be around Buster when he shakes off! LOL!

You have so many awesome projects going on! I've never used spray baste - sorry it didn't work so well for ya. Hopefully, it'll all work out. Walking away from it for a little bit sometimes just makes everything better. :)

beautiful quilt!! I love the colors used.

A. Love the tiddly family. Something was in the air in late 2005, early 2006 regarding the miracle thing.

B. You are so prolific you sort of make me sick.
