My Favorite Mixer--Part Two--Craftsy
10:52 AM
2012~the year of firsts. :)
I did it! I wrote a pattern for my mixer block, fiddled around with it, changed it around lots of times, and finally put it on Craftsy!
But not until I made up another one, this one for my MIL, I think. Two of her favorite things are the color red, and polka dots.
It's not made into anything yet, but I am leaning toward, what else, but a hot pad. :) Which do you like better, red or pink?
I had lots of fun making up my own English Paper Pieced pattern, and lots of fun writing the pattern for it. (Thanks, Beth, for some tips.) Of course, my EPP skills could improve, but I still enjoy the hand sewing. So portable, and quiet. I hope my SIL loves her pink polka dot mixer hot pad that led to all of this. :)
My blog friend Sharon--of Lilabelle Lane--all the way down under, was even kind enough to test it for me, and has written a review on her blog today. Check out her awesome EPP skills and cute block. Thanks Sharon!
If you'd like to give it a go, the pattern is located here.
Look! Am I a nerd to be so excited about this? I mean, even if no one ever tries it, it's just fun to have accomplished something that I never thought I would. :)
Of course, if you love hand piecing, I would be honored if you gave it a go, and sent a pic to me. :)
Off to get to work! Lots to do before Thanksgiving. Hope you're having a great week, and Happy Thanksgiving to you!!
xoxo

I think your Favorite Mixer is awesome!! You should be so proud!! I'm even going to go get the pattern. Happy Thanksgiving to you!! :)
congrats on your pattern! what fun. i sure do love that red dots version, your MIL will love it!
Your mixer pattern is too cute! I hope to see lots of them around the blogosphere...
All of them are just so cute! Congrats on your first pattern! Like your MIL I love red and polka dots so maybe that one is one inch cuter. :)
I fell in love with your pink one a few blog posts ago, and right after I type this I'll be off to get the pattern! I think I commented before that my sister has a red Mix Master so I was thinking of making her one in red. It's nice to see your red version in this post --- proves that this would be perfect for her in that color :-)
so happy for you!! I think I'm going to make it for my sister for Christmas--I think I've decided to get her a baking basket. Baking is how she de-stresses, so I think I'm going to get a cute basket and fill it with baking supplies, cookbook, cupcake wrappers, etc. A mixer hot pad would be perfect!
Really, Kelli--so happy for you!
LOVE the red polka dots. I'm using red polka dots for a sewing machine block. Congrats on your pattern.

Wow! Look at you go! I'm so impressed.....I don't even know what to say! No wonder you've been so quiet lately :) I love red, but I really love your pink one. I seriously can't believe you're on Craftsy! Not that I don't think you're good enough..just crazy cool! Congratulations!!
Well done on your first pattern. I love it in pink. I shall be giving it a try once I've ploughed through my Christmas stitching. It also really great that you are so excited about it, you should be it is awesome.
Huge congratulations on your first pattern and thnk you or the honour of testing it for you. Hugs

Don't blame you for being excited! Well done to you! Love your testers idea of the selvedge for numbers on the mixer! lol
Well done, and the pezzy/dotty one is cute :o)
Awesome pattern - I love it! Great accomplishment :)
I like both colors, but I especially like the pink polka dots. I don't think I've ever seen a quilted Kitchenaid mixer before!
Nice work.
Super cute--I love the colors!
These are just too cute. I'm personally partial to the red polka dot mixer but they're all wonderful.
That's so cute! I love the solid red one.
These are too cute! Discovered your blog via Quilt Story!
