School House and Sample Spree~Market Day Two
11:32 PM
Today was the day to finish the booth set-up..
..and experience School House and Sample Spree. :) Listened to some fun lectures.. Beth's School House presentation went GREAT, it was a 15 minute session in one of the smaller rooms and there were people standing in the back of the room even! Yay for her! :) I have no pics of that, as I was holding up quilts for her.
Aside from helping out in hers, we also attended lots of others. Let's skip the small talk and get to the photos. :)
Amy Butler.. Belle.. (she is wearing the staple dress pattern designed by her good friend that I've been reading about lately)
Valori Wells.. Wish..
Eleanor Burns, Pat Sloan, and Alex Anderson and Rob Appell talking about Island Batik's partnership with Operation Homefront for "Quilted in Honor"..
Listened to Tula Pink talk about her new book.. and then call her bestie Angela Walters up to talk about the UH-mazing quilting on the quilts!
Angela talked about her own new line, Legacy..
It was such a busy and full day, capped off with Sample Spree. I'll try to post more pics tomorrow of some of the people we ran into today. Was so fun!
For now.. do you believe this line waiting to get into Sample Spree? I had to take it in three photos. The entrance is at the top of the stairs in the upper right corner of the pic.
Then it snaked around and down the stairs.. Beth and her local helper Kathy, who has been helping so much with driving us and booth set-up, etc. (and is even having us over for dinner tomorrow night!) couldn't believe how LONG the line was.. but it didn't stop there..
It kept going and going.
This whole experience has been so much fun so far, and I'm sure it will continue to be. Let's just say that if this were a Star Trek convention and if I were a "trekkie" I would probably be dressed in costume by now. haha!
More later.. MUST sleep.
xoxo

Look at the quilt that Rob Appell designed for the cause. So amazing.

How cool - and intersting and amazing that you are getting to see and hear so much. Whew!! That line is incredible!!!
Looking forward to meeting you today : )
Amazing. Lucky you! What is "sample spree"? Is it worth waiting for - whatever it is? How long does it take to get to the fromt of the queue?
thanks for sharing, it's so funny what we do for fabric and Free fabric at that. lol
Sounds like loads of fun so far! So did you snaffle any goodies at sample spree, or did the line do you in? ;o)
Thanks so much Sharing this with us...
Looks great! Seems like tons of fun indeed.
Kelli, wow...wow...wow...what a great experience at the quilt show! I loved the fact that you got to see so many famous quilters and authors of our time! I'm so impressed with not only that line, but the patience to be in that line. If I went I'd take a little chair to sit on...unless it kept moving~ So happy for you~ ♥♥♥
Memories for you that will last a life time! Have fun for me too!
OMG! I wish I was in your shoes! I am so envious to hear from all the different quilters and all the inspiring quilts.
Oh how I wish I lived in America and then I could be there at Quilt Market too, but instead I am stuck in Australia writing school reports...my life is so sad :(
More pics please!
Is there ever anything left after all those gals get through the Sample Spree??
