Bloggers' Quilt Festival
12:46 PM
It' that time of year again when the Bloggers' Quilt Festival rolls around over at Amy's Creative Side. Lots of categories to enter, and lots of prizes to be won. A great big online quilt party! All you have to do is write a post between Oct. 25 and Oct. 31 and link it up over at the festival. Fun!

Two quilts have consumed my life this year, but I decided to enter this baby quilt that I recently designed and made into a pattern. It's actually big enough to grow into toddler-hood, or to be made into a throw/lap quilt for a man in your life who is a handyman/crafty type. (Apologies to anyone who is sick of this quilt by now.) ;)
With the exception of the borders and backing, I used all fabrics from my stash, in polka dots, checks, a couple of robot prints and one plaid.
It was lots of fun watching it come together just as I'd imagined it.
I loved using some of the ric-rac that had just been gathering dust for the drill bit..
And since I prefer brights and dots, sewing it up was even more fun..
Here is the top before Pat Roche's magic quilting..
..and the fun backing I found at my local craft store in the perfect colors.. very little boyish.
And after Pat's quilting.. she did some really, really fun things with it.. I love swirls!
And what she did with the screws and the borders was so cool.
I swooned when I saw the little tools in the border! There is a hammer, a wrench, a nail, and a saw.
It was a really fun project! Thanks for listening to me ramble on about it one more time! I can't wait to see all the quilts over at the Bloggers' Quilt Festival!
Have a great weekend!
xoxo

Thanks for the reminder! Totally forgot about the festival. Great entries!
I showed Tools, Baby yesterday at my School House presentation, and it got the mosts oohs and aaahs. And it's now hanging at the front of our booth, and several other vendors have stopped by and made compliments on it. I think it's a hit already! We open this morning for Market. I'll let you know how it goes!
