Tools, Baby!! Finish
4:41 PM
The other day, I mailed off the Tools, Baby!! quilt to be quilted, and it came back today.
Wow! Pat is so talented. :D She quilted actual little tools in the border. I spent all morning getting the binding on. Here it is, all done!
I used Riley Blake yellow gingham for the binding. I tried to take a pic of the cute little tools quilted into the border, but I don't know if it came out very well. There's a pair of pliers, saw, hammer and nail.
Kind of hard to tell in the photo.. I think this photo is easier to see..
Anyway, I just love her quilting! She quilted zig-zags in the saw blade, and made the screws look really cute, and lots of swirls, which I love!
And this little baby is off on an adventure, too. After your positive feedback about making it into a pattern, I wrote to Riley Blake and asked if this pattern might be something they would be interested in, or no.. expecting a "Maybe, let us know when the pattern is done and we'll see," or a "No, this won't work for us," and I got a message back that if I could finish it in time, they would take it to Quilt Market in Houston with them, and hang it in their booth in the pattern section. ???? Happy Dance! I still can't believe it and am waiting for someone to say "just kidding--don't send it..not hanging it". But I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Of course plans can always change, and it might not hang after all, but it's off on an adventure tomorrow via the US postal service, and we'll see where it goes! Hopefully it gets to hang, but if not, I'm sure it will enjoy the ride to Houston in a crate with lots of other pretty quilts.
I almost have the pattern all done and will be putting it on Craftsy soon. So today, I dragged my hub along to take some photos to try to get one to put on the front of the pattern..
Here are a few..
maybe?
definitely not. :)
I think this one will be it.
Thanks for reading, and I hope you're having a great week!
