Minecraft Mondays #13: Zombie Pigman

Happy Monday!

This week is the Zombie Pigman. It's late Sunday night, and I just got the diagram done and am about to use it to make my block.

This past week has been really busy.  Some things are starting to catch up to me. Along with starting a new quilt project for Riley Blake, I'm helping plan my son's school literacy night (which is also Minecraft themed this year--I'll be in full Minecraft burnout after that! ha!) and my father-in-law is here visiting for a couple of days. Busy but FUN!

For now, let's get going on the Pigman. :D

You'll need some pink, light gray, a bit of green, and a tiny bit of black, white and dark gray.

Cutting:

Light Gray: (1) 3 1/2 x 6 1/2"
            (1) 3 1/2 x 5"
            (1) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"
            (5) 2 x 2"

Pink: (1) 5 x 6 1/2"
      (1) 3 1/2 x 5"
      (1) 2 x 3 1/2"
      (2) 2 x 2"

Green: (1) 2 x 9 1/2"
       (3) 2 x 3 1/2"
       (2) 2 x 2"

Black: (1) 2 x 3 1/2"
       (1) 2 x 2"

White & Dark Gray:
(1) 2 x 2" of each color

Prep: Stitch together the pieces indicated by the small gray arrows first.

Assembly: Assemble each half in order of the numbered arrows, then stitch the two halves together as shown.

And there you have one Zombie Pigman. :D I just made the block according to the cutting instructions and the diagram, to double check, and it should be accurate.

I'll add photos in tomorrow when I can get some. For now, it's off to sleep. Literacy Night meeting in the morning! We have only four weeks left to get it together.

**edit: He's DONE! :D

On to planning literacy night!

*Edit 1/20/2020: Be sure to always use scant quarter inch seams and if you'd like to see blocks from the other sew alongs, come join the sew along group on my FB page! And if you make any of these blocks, come find me on IG @kellifanninquilts, I'd love to see!

*Update: I'm making video shorts of these tutorials to put on youtube. Come join the fun. They're easy to pause and sew along to, if you like to sew from a laptop or tablet. :) Zombie Pigman's tutorial video can be found *HERE*.

Love this sewalong! I'm so glad you are persevering with putting the blocks up each week even though you are busy with other projects. The blocks are simple enough to allow me to begin thinking about individual changes I can make. Thank you so much!!!

Well there's no doubt that he's an odd-looking fellow! Hope the literacy night planning is going well!
