Minecraft Mondays #14: Mooshroom
12:08 AM
Happy Monday!
This week is the Mooshroom. Which I called the red cow for a long time, to my son's great disapproval. :D
Cutting:
Red: (1) 3 1/2 x 5"
(2) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"
(2) 2 x 3 1/2"
(1) 2 x 21"***
White: (1) 3 1/2 x 5"
(1) 2 x 21"***
Black: (2) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"
(2) 2 x 2"
Gray: (1) 2 x 6 1/2"
(1) 2 x 3 1/2"
***If you can't get a 2 x 21" continuous strip from your fat quarter because you've already cut into it for your other blocks, you may have to piece it to get the length you need. I just had to add about 3" to the end of my white strip to get it to 21". But in the end, it will save time and lots of steps by doing it this way.

Prep:
Stitch 2 x 21" strips of red and white together, then cut into following units.
(2) 2 x 3 1/2"
(3) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"
Assembly:
This one is divided into four rows. Using the above pieces and your cut pieces, stitch each row together in order of the numbered arrows.
Then, assemble the rows in order according to the gray arrows.

Then you should have a finished Mooshroom. :D
Only two more blocks in this row, and then we'll be on to the last row!
I also saw lots of blocks this week on Instagram.
@mellierc is catching up..
I love @candaceostewart's two different pigmen. :D
@little.emerz drafted up some additional blocks to make her quilt bigger. I love them!
@naturalencountersappleton's blocks made from civil war prints and batiks from her stash are fun to see come together.
@inspiritedmama started sewing along.
@daydreamsofquilts is using only her stash, too. It's fun to see how her blocks turn out each week.
@alfamare is catching up and making little changes to her blocks too. I like that people are putting their own spin on it and making their quilts unique!
@maritahaydon is doing QAYG method for quilting! I haven't tried that yet, and am excited to see how it turns out for her.
@shannajones99's grandson is contemplating the layout of his quilt. :D
@fatquartershop is all caught up.
@karens__photos made a witch..
@buttoncounter is catching up..
@chellempcs shared her squid and enderman..
@bgraham01 shared her pigman..
@happy4learning shared her squid and witch with a mole.. :D
Thanks for sharing guys! It's so much fun to see your blocks!
Next week, it's Snow Golem week. I am still trying to figure out why Snow Golem has a pumpkin head. It's like fall collided with winter. So bazaar. ??
Anyway, have a great week!

I love the red cow!!
Thanks for doing this Minecraft quilt! My grandson's check out my design wall every day after school to see what's new. I'm having so much fun with this!
I am making a Minecraft quilt for my grandson. The information provided has helped me a lot. Everything is so well described and what I found most helpful was showing the layout for each block. I am at block number 14 today so moving right along, and I love it. Might do a second one for his sister, since she loves Minecraft too.
Greetings from August 2020! A little late to the party but I am so glad to have found this blog. My grandson will be the recipient of this quilt. Great instructions and photos and a fun quilt to make. Next is the Mooshroom block. I'm trying to do 4 blocks a day and get the quilt made in a week. Being retired helps that process! Again thanks. So glad I found you. Sally.
