Minecraft Monday #16: Gold Steve

Happy Monday, Minecraft friends!

This week's block is Gold Steve. The last block in the fourth row! I can't believe we're almost done. Or that it's May already. My son's been planning the back of his quilt, lately, so I might be sewing on this for months after Minecraft Mondays ends. ha

However, I haven't had a chance to sew up this week's block yet. *hanging head in shame* It's a crazy busy time right now, and will be for the next two weeks. I'm going to try to get him made this week and post pictures then, I promise! :)

I've been sewing a quilt for Riley Blake made with their Crayola solids that they'll be debuting at Quilt Market later this month. It's ready to be quilted.

I can't show it yet, but I can't wait to. I think it's one of my favorites of all time! Bright colors make me happy and it's full of them! :D

And I am about to start on a Jane's Cross quilt made with Lila Tueller's new line for them, called Fantine, for her display. It's so pretty.

Both of them have to be completely finished and ready to ship in two weeks. *breaking out in a sweat*

At the same time, school literacy night is in ELEVEN days!! Yikes. So we are in the final stages of preparation for that, too.  It's all happening at the same time, and I feel like a chicken with my head cut off! And to make matters more complicated, we've got to finish painting a gazillion boxes and figure out how we're going to assemble them into a CASTLE.

And the Quiltmaker 100 Blocks blog hop to launch their Spring issue (volume 13) starts today. My block made the cover again!

Eeek! So exciting! And my day on the hop is on Friday May 6th! Come by to enter. There will be giveaways! In fact, there will be giveaways each day at the various blogs along the hop. Just click on the button in the top left sidebar up there and it will take you to Quiltmaker's site with the list of blogs to visit each day. It's always a lot of fun. Lots of prizes and inspiration. It's going to be a super busy next two weeks for sure!

But I didn't want to let anyone down with the Monday schedule, esp. the kids who look forward to the blocks each week, so I got the diagram finished and will post it on time! :D  I'll just post a pic of my block when I finish it.  I just need to make some room to sew it up. Here's what you'll need..

Fabric: a skin tone, a gold color, and a small bit of brown, white and blue.

*note*: To make Diamond Steve, switch gold with blue.

Cutting:

Gold: (1) 5 x 12 1/2"
      (1) 3 1/2 x 5"
      (2) 2 x 3 1/2"

Skin: (2) 3 1/2 x 5"
      (2) 2 x 2"
      (3) 2 x 3 1/2"

Brown: (3) 2 x 3 1/2"

White: (2) 2 x 2"

Blue: (2) 2 x 2"

Assembly: Stitch together pieces indicated by small gray arrows first, then piece together in order of the numbered arrows.

OOPS! I just noticed that one of the gold 2 x 3 1/2" pieces isn't labeled with the size. But I think you'll be able to tell which piece it is. Sorry for the oversight!

Let me know if you have any questions! I'll be over here breathing into a paper bag at all I have to get done in the next couple of weeks! haha

xoxoxo

I am sooo late to the game but about to jump onto the field anyway :D I ordered the FQ bundle from FQS yesterday and as soon as it comes in, I plan on getting started. My sons bday is May 24th but it may become a Christmas present lol. Thanks so much for the great designs! How can I send you progress pics if I am not on Instagram?
