Minecraft Quilt Letters: A-C Tutorials
It's time for some alphabet options!
In case anyone wanted to add letters to their Minecraft quilt, here are the first three tutorials for the Minecraft font quilt letters that I drew up based on a free font I found online. Each block is 10 1/2 x 12 1/2" (10 x 12" finished).
LETTER A:
Cutting:
Black: (4) 1 1/2 x 10 1/2"
(1) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2"
Dark Gray: (1) 1 1/2 x 6"
(1) 1 1/2 x 10"
(1) 1 1/2 x 7"
Light Gray: (1) 1 1/2 x 6"
(1) 2 1/2 x 10"
(1) 3 1/2 x 7"
(1) 1 1/2 x 5 1/2"
(1) 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
(1) 2 1/2 x 4 1/2"
Prep:
a) Stitch 1 1/2 x 6" strips of light gray and dark gray together, then cut into (4) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2" units.
Stitch three units together as shown below, and set the other aside.
b) Stitch 2 1/2 x 10" strip of light gray and 1 1/2 x 10" strip of dark gray together, then cut into (1) 2 1/2 x 3 1/2" unit and (1) 3 1/2 x 7 1/2" unit as shown below.
c) Stitch 3 1/2 x 7" strip of light gray and 1 1/2 x 7" strip of dark gray together, then cut into (2) 3 1/2 x 4 1/2" rectangles.
Stitch together as shown below.
Assembly: Assemble in order of the numbered arrows.
And the "A" is done. :)

Cutting:
Black: (4) 1 1/2 x 10 1/2"
(1) 1 1/2 x 1 1/2"
Dark Gray: (1) 1 1/2 x 15"
(1) 1 1/2 x 1 1/2"
Light Gray: (1) 3 1/2 x 15"
(3) 2 1/2 x 4 1/2"
(1) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2"
Prep: Stitch 3 1/2 x 15" strip of light gray to 1 1/2 x 15" strip of dark gray, then cut into (2) 2 1/2 x 4 1/2", (1) 4 1/2 x 4 1/2", and (1) 4 1/2 x 5 1/2" units as shown below.
Assembly: Assemble in order of the numbered arrows.
And the "B" is done. :)

(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"

(1) 3 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Prep:
a) Stitch 5 x 7 1/2" rectangle of light gray and 1 1/2 x 5" rectangle of dark gray together, then cut into (2) 2 1/2 x 8 1/2" rectangles as shown below.
b) Stitch 3 1/2 x 6 1/2" rectangle of light gray and 1 1/2 x 6 1/2" strip of dark gray together as shown below.
Assembly: Assemble in order of the numbered arrows.
And the "C" is done. :)

This quilt has been so much fun! I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog!! I have 4 boys and 3 nephews and they all want one!! I was just making this for one of my sons, but I told them they can all snuggle with it. I would love to add my son's name to the backing. That is such a great idea!!
