Minecraft Quilt Letters: V-X Tutorials

The V is here, River! :D River is a little boy whose Grandma is making his quilt, and he's been waiting patiently for a V to complete his name!



Hi, River! (hand waving) Here is the last letter you need for your name, along with the W and the X.

Letter V:



Cutting:

Black: (4) 1 1/2 x 10 1/2"
       (1) 2 1/2 x 5 1/2"
       (2) 2 1/2 x 2 1/2"
       (2) 1 1/2 x 3 1/2"
       (1) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2"

Light Gray: (2) 2 1/2 x 5 1/2"
            (1) 2 1/2 x 4 1/2"
            (1) 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
            (1) 1 1/2 x 3 1/2"
            (1) 1 1/2 x 1 1/2"

Dark Gray: (2) 1 1/2 x 5 1/2"
           (1) 1 1/2 x 3 1/2"
           (1) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2"
           (1) 1 1/2 x 1 1/2"

Assembly: Assemble the pieces indicated by the small gray arrows first, then assemble in order of the numbered arrows. This one has a lot of pieces!




You have a V! :D

Letter W:




Cutting:

Black: (4) 1 1/2 x 10 1/2"
       (2) 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
       (1) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2"

Light Gray: (2) 2 1/2 x 10 1/2"
            (3) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2"
            (1) 1 1/2 x 3 1/2"

Dark Gray: (1) 1 1/2 x 10 1/2"
           (1) 1 1/2 x 3 1/2"
           (2) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2"

Assembly: Stitch together pieces indicated by small gray arrows first, then stitch together according to the numbered arrows.




And you have a W! :)

Letter X:




Cutting:

Black: (2) 2 x 10 1/2"
       (2) 1 1/2 x 10 1/2"
       (2) 2 1/2 x 2 1/2"
       (2) 1 1/2 x 4 1/2"

Light Gray: (1) 2 1/2 x 20 1/2"

Dark Gray: (1) 1 1/2 x 20 1/2"

Prep: Stitch your 2 1/2 x 20 1/2" strip of light gray and your 1 1/2 x 20 1/2" strip of dark gray together, then cut into (4) 3 1/2 x 4 1/2" rectangles and (1) 2 1/2 x 3 1/2" rectangle as shown below.




Assembly: Assemble according to the small gray arrows first, then assemble in order of the numbered arrows.




And you have an X! (for Moxie!) :D

Only two more letters to go in the Minecraft alphabet. 

Be on the lookout for Y and Z, coming next. Does anyone need a Y or a Z?  Just curious. :)
