Pokemon Fridays: Snorlax (block 7)

Hi everyone! (hand waving) I hope you all had a Merry Christmas!! It's Pokemon Friday again! The holidays threw me off for a minute, but with this post, I think we're back on track and caught up. :)

This week's block is Snorlax.

Snorlax has a few bigger pieces so should go together faster than Squirtle. He uses six colors: background, white, black, dark blue green, tan and a lighter tan color. I'll list the ones I'm using from the Bella Solids bundle.

Bright Turquoise (background):

1 1/2" sq. (2)
1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (3)
1 1/2 x 3 1/2" (2)
1 1/2 x 4 1/2" (2)
2 1/2 x 4 1/2" (1)
2 1/2 x 7 1/2" (1)
3 1/2 x 4 1/2" (1)
3 1/2 x 7 1/2" (1)
4 1/2" sq. (1)
2 1/2 x 9 1/2" (1)

Black:

1 1/2" sq. (12)
1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (10)
1 1/2 x 3 1/2" (9)
1 1/2 x 4 1/2" (5)
1 1/2 x 7 1/2" (1)

Off White (white):

1 1/2" sq. (10)

Horizon Blue (dark blue-green):

1 1/2" sq. (11)
1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (5)
1 1/2 x 3 1/2" (1)
1 1/2 x 4 1/2" (2)
2 1/2 x 3 1/2" (2)
2 1/2 x 5 1/2" (1)
2 1/2 x 6 1/2" (1)

Latte (darker tan):

1 1/2" sq. (6)
1 1/2 x 7 1/2" (1)

Almond (lighter tan):

1 1/2" sq. (9)
1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (8)
1 1/2 x 5 1/2" (2)
2 1/2 x 3 1/2" (1)
2 1/2 x 4 1/2" (1)
3 1/2 x 5 1/2" (2)
5 1/2 x 7 1/2" (1)

Let's get started:

As always, stitch pieces indicated by small gray arrows first, then assemble according to the numbered arrows, and always with scant quarter inch seams.  When finished with each section, label and set aside.

After stitching the above sections together, you should have one 2 1/2 x 9 1/2" rectangle of background fabric left over, which you'll use in the assembly diagram below. Stitch according to small gray arrows first, then according to numbered arrows.

And you should have one completed 20 1/2" Snorlax! (20" finished)

It's a lot of fun watching these come together, and seeing your blocks over on Instagram. Don't forget to tag your photos with #pokemonquilt &/or #pokemonfridays, and come find me @kellifanninquilts. Also, if you want to see blocks and quilts from the other sewalongs (Minecraft & Harry Potter), come join the sew along group on my FB page. And if you're just finding these blocks, you can find all of the Pokemon blocks and tutorials on the sewalong page *HERE*, or by clicking the button in the right sidebar or the sewalongs tab at the top of the page.

Thanks for sewing along! Here's my Snorlax. :D

Happy Stitching! Be back soon!

I'm not sure what type of thing Snorlax is, but he looks as though he might be a goody...
