Pokemon Friday: End is Near! (Sashing)
1:31 PM
Hey SewAlong friends! It's Pokemon Friday again! Better late than never! I hoped to have this post up this morning, but I ran out of time to do it last night, and then remembered my son had an assembly at school where he was getting an award, so we were gone all morning!
I can't believe we've done the 12 blocks already, and it's time to sash and border. You only need one color for this, unless you want to change it up.. I'm doing it all in my background color. The top row with the Pokemon logo will be slightly different because those blocks were 19" sq. instead of 20" sq. like the rest of them. So that the logo ends up centered in the top row.
Let's go!
Stitch the horizontal rows together first. The top "Pokemon" row will use the two rectangles that are 4 x 19 1/2", on each end of the row. It should come out to the same measurement as the rest of the rows. Then stitch the rows together using the 2 1/2 x 64 1/2" strips. Once complete, stitch on outer borders according to numbered arrows. I hope this diagram makes sense!
I've checked the measurements over and over but let me know if you find a discrepancy.
Finished Size: 74 x 95"
I can't wait to see finished quilts pop up! I've still got some catching up to do with my blocks as I've had to stop to do other sewing, but I will catch up SOON!
This has been so much fun. I still may have other additional blocks pop up now and then, but probably not until after I catch up with these blocks and get to work on the backing that my son wants!
Thanks for sewing along! Please please tag me over on IG so I can see your quilts if you post them. :D (@kellifanninquilts,#pokemonfridays, #pokemonquilt)
You guys are the BEST!

That is too cute of a quilt design! Boy do I hear you on those days when IRL takes over from QBL life lol! Congrats to your son. :-)
