'tis the season
12:00 AM
It's the season for Christmas gift making and for Christmas quilts, so I thought I'd share the only Christmas quilt that I have, called Welcome Wreath.
It's been hanging around for a couple of years now, but I never did post about it here. I drew it up and made it for the Riley Blake market booth out of their Comfort & Joy fabrics.
It made a detour after quilt market to hang in a quilt shop in UT (my quilts travel more than I do), and briefly sold in kits that year at Fort Worth Fabric Studio..
..and though I have considered it sort of a bygone for a while now, it recently got picked up by Annie's Craft Store and Catolog - Yay! A second life! I just remembered to look it up and see if they had it online yet! And there it is.
It's large blocks that are super simple and can be chain pieced, if you like chain piecing. Sometimes it's kinda nice to sit and feed the units through and listen to the hum of the machine. I love chain piecing. I have a soft spot for this one because it is soo easy and fast! Both of my testers stitched them up quickly, and both in Christmas colors.

Sally made her wreath portions out of scraps!↟ Brenda used two different fabrics in her contrasting backgrounds.↡
I always thought it would look nice in non-Christmas colors, too, but had never seen one.. until this one popped into my inbox one day from Shelly. (I love to receive photos of quilts people have made with my patterns!) I'm in love with her beachy colors and that it's batiks!!!
Here are some other mock-ups that I had done in a couple of Timeless Treasures fabric lines.
Revisiting some of these patterns makes me want to stitch them up again! Revisiting this one also reminds me that I need to get it in gear and get ready for Christmas! And go pull this quilt out of hiding!!
I hope you've had a good week. Happy Fri-yay 🙌, and have a great weekend!! If you made it to the end, thanks for reading!
Happy Stitching!
