Harry Potter Quilt Week 20: Knight Bus

Hi everyone!

Welcome to WEEK 20 of the Harry Potter Quilt Along! It seemed like we'd never get here! But here we are... making the KNIGHT BUS!🚌

I've seen some questions about more blocks.. yes! There will be more blocks! Aidan (@thegeekyquilter) has been working on each house crest, and I've also seen some great blocks pop up in the sew along group. I'd love to share those here eventually if it's okay with their designers! You guys are all so awesome and creative. This has been so much fun. I also plan to make a giant crest for the back of my son's quilt. I'll add new stuff to the sew along page as I get them figured out. If you designed a block and would like me to add it, send me a message. I'd love to include it.

For right now, let's start on my favorite bus!

5. Stitch from left upper corner to right lower corner.
6. Clip, flip & press.

**Repeat using 1 1/2 x 3 1/2" rect. of black (F) and two 1 1/2" sq. of background (A). Repeat these steps for total of two of these units.

**Repeat using 1 1/2 x 3 1/2" rectangle of black (F) and two 1 1/2" sq. of darker purple (B).

Block Assembly: Assemble block as shown below. You should have a finished Knight Bus block measuring 18 1/2", 18" when finished in quilt.

Stay tuned next weekend for the start of the extra blocks. If you're stopping here, the sashing info is on the sew along page.

Don't forget to tag your blocks with #hpqal2019 and #harrypotterquilt if you post pics on social media. This has been so much fun! I've seen a few finished quilts pop up, and I can't wait to see more! Thank you so soo much for sewing along and making this so much fun!

xoxoxo!!
