Harry Potter Quilt: Quidditch Rings
10:57 PM
Hello! (hand waving) 👋
It's time for another extra block for the Harry Potter quilt! We're up to extra block #19! We almost have enough blocks for TWO twin quilts now. I thought I'd share the Quidditch Rings this time, since they're pretty simple. Especially compared to the Hogwarts Express! Just two colors and zero corner flips for this one!
It goes together in three large sections.
Let's get started! I'm so glad that this was among the extra suggestions-thank you! I hadn't even thought about doing the three rings, but I like them a lot! It will make a fun addition!

Fabric A (background):

(13) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (**)
(3) 1 1/2 x 3 1/2" (***)
(2) 1 1/2 x 4"
(1) 1 1/2 x 9 1/2"
(1) 2 x 2 1/2"
(3) 2 1/2" sq.
(1) 2 1/2 x 3"
(1) 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
(1) 2 1/2 x 4 1/2"
(2) 3 x 3 1/2"
(3) 3 1/2 x 4 1/2"
(1) 4 1/2" sq.
(1) 4 1/2 x 8 1/2"
(1) 5 x 5 1/2"
(1) 5 x 8 1/2"
Fabric B (rings):
(16) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(6) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (**)
(5) 1 1/2 x 3 1/2" (***)
(2) 1 1/2 x 4"
(1) 1 1/2 x 4 1/2"
(1) 2 x 9 1/2"
Part 1: Assemble as shown below. Label as Part 1 and set aside.
Part 2: Assemble as shown below. Label as Part 2 and set aside.
Part 3: Assemble as shown below. Label as Part 3 and set aside.
Block Assembly: Assemble Parts 1-3 along with the extra background pieces, as shown below, and you will have an 18 1/2" (18" finished) block of three Quidditch Rings!
That's a wrap for the three rings! If you make a Quidditch block and post on social media, don't forget to tag with #hpqal2019 and #harrypotterquilt or tag me on IG @kellifanninquilts, so we can all see your blocks! You can also see a lot of blocks in the FB sew along group *HERE*. If you're just happening upon these blocks, you can find all of the sew along information and links to all of the block tutorials *HERE*. There's a total of 39 blocks now!
I'll be back soon with another extra block tutorial, as soon as I can get to it. With pattern purchase orders and pin orders and holiday stuff, and other appointments, it's a little crazy around here right now. I hope your holiday planning is going smoothly!
Have a great day and Happy Stitching!
xoxo

you are amazing! When I think of holiday planning, I remember that usually the weirdest disasters make the best stories later [sometimes MUCH later!] I just got the train cut out but will add these lovely rings to the lineup!
