Scrappy Puppy Quilt Block Tutorial
8:33 PM
Hello! I'm back, with another quilt block tutorial for my National Days scrap quilt. Still doing days from the month of March and trying to catch up, and this one is from March 23, National Puppy Day. This quilt HAD to have a puppy quilt block in it.
Puppies..*swoon*. We don't currently have a dog. We were waiting until we get settled, since we have plans to move next year. But I can't count the number of times during this lock down situation that I have LONGED for a dog. I can't wait to have another dog in the future!
So my 13 y.o. son helped me configure this one (I can't believe he's 13!), and I think he's a pretty good advisor!
Let's stitch this puppy!🐶

Assemble your puppy quilt block as shown below. It will be 8 1/2" sq. (8" finished). This is block #42 I think! 42 of 144 that I need to complete my king size scrappy sampler National Days sampler quilt.
I hope you had a great Memorial Day Weekend, whether sheltering in or starting to venture out. Thanks for popping in to see how this puppy block goes together. I'm going to link him up on the National Days quilt blocks page *HERE* with all of the others. And I'll be back soon with another of the blocks.
If you make any, I'd love to see! Come find me on social media @kellifanninquilts on IG, or on my FB page, or in the sew along group on my FB page. These blocks have been popping up in the sew along group lately and it's really fun to see them. There are also a lot of Minecraft, Pokemon, and Harry Potter quilts and blocks shared in the group.
I'll be back soon!
Stay healthy and Happy Stitching!
xoxo

Your son has been a great asset to your quilting over the years. Who knows, he might start quilting one of these days. We are a 2 dog family, so, even when we lose a dog, we still have one. I haven't been 'dogless' since right after I moved out from my parents home (single days), almost 38 years ago.
Awww you have done it again. An adorable block. Please give your son a huge "THANK YOU" He did a great job. quilting dash lady at comcast dot net
That is a super cute block Kelli! I hope you don't mind if I share that in my FB group? And I Understand the longing for a new dog. I remember when you lost yours...I cried right along with you. We lost one of ours 2 years ago and it was so hard! He was my baby and the best dog ever....however, we adopted a puppy from a shelter in January and he has brought so much joy with his antics and goofy ways. He really fills that hole in my heart ( along with our other dog of course!). Anyway, waiting is probably a good idea but I don't know if I could do it...xx Monique
what an adorable block!! thank you :-)
Thank you for the sweet puppy pattern! Monique from "Farmhouse Quilts" shared it with our group. I appreciate your skill in creating this & generosity in sharing it with all of us 💙
