Scrabble Quilt Block Tutorial
5:05 PM
Hello again and Happy Weekend!
Do you like board games? Today I thought I'd share the next National Days block and tutorial that was on my list for my scrap quilt for the month of April. This one is for National Scrabble Day which was on April 13th. I picked the letter F for my block, and guess what? ZERO clip and flip units for this block so it will go quickly! :)
Here's how it goes..
Fabric A (background):
(1) 1 x 1 1/4" (>)
(1) 1 1/4 x 1 1/2" (+)
(1) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(1) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (**)
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
(2) 1 1/2 x 8 1/2"
(1) 2 x 4"
(1) 3 x 4"
(1) 3 x 4 1/2"
Fabric B (letter):
(1) 1 x 1 1/4" (>)
(1) 1 x 1 1/2" (~)
(1) 1 x 2 1/2" (~~)
(1) 1 1/2 x 3"
(1) 1 1/2 x 4"
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
*Using scant quarter inch seams, assemble as shown below, and you'll have a Scrabble tile quilt block. :) I chose our last initial for my letter tile. But F can also stand for Family, Faith, Friends, Fun, Funky, Fabulosity-haha!, let's see, oh!! Fabric! :)
The block will be 8" finished (8 1/2" unfinished).
Thanks for stopping in today! If you make any of these National Days blocks (I'm keeping all the posts organized *HERE*), come find me on social media and tag me! I'd love to see. @kellifanninquilts on IG, or *HERE* at my FB page, or in the sew along group on FB *HERE*, where you can see lots of blocks from this and the free Minecraft, Pokemon, and Harry Potter sew alongs.
I haven't even drawn up the next few blocks on my list yet, so I'll be working on those before I come back with another. But it won't be long. :)
Have a great rest of the weekend! See you soon.
Happy Stitching!
xoxo
