Simple Rainbow Quilt Block Tutorial
11:59 AM
Hello!
Happy Monday! I'm posting another block for my National Days scrap quilt project today. I'm up to April 3rd, this time, and April 3rd is National Find a Rainbow Day. I'm sure we could all use some extra rainbows this year.
For this rainbow, you'll just need lots of 1 1/2 x 6 1/2" strips, and some 1 1/2" sq. I think this block would actually make a fun scrap quilt, all by itself, just a bunch of scrappy rainbows. 🌈
Here's how it goes together.
Fabric A (background):
(2) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(2) 1 1/2 x 2 1/2" (**)
(2) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Fabric B (cloud):
(2) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Fabric C (red):
(2) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Fabric D (orange):
(2) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Fabric E (yellow):
(2) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Fabric F (green):
(2) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Fabric G (blue):
(2) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"
Fabric H (purple):
(2) 1 1/2" sq. (*)
(1) 1 1/2 x 6 1/2"

You should have an 8 1/2" unfinished (8" finished) rainbow block for National Find a Rainbow Day.
If you are just finding these blocks and would like to see the other 40+ National Days quilt blocks, I'm keeping them all organized on the National Days blocks page, *HERE*. You can also find the link by hitting the TUTORIALS tab in the top menu bar up there.
I'll be back soon with another block. If you post any blocks on social media, please tag me so I can see and share them. :) @kellifanninquilts on IG, or on my FB page *HERE*. There's also a FB sewalong group where you can see lots of these blocks, as well as blocks and quilts from the Minecraft, Pokemon, and Harry Potter sewalongs.
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great week this week! Full of colorful rainbows! 🌈
Happy Stitching!
xoxo
