Horse Quilt Block Tutorial for National I Love Horses Day

Hello again! I've been busy catching up on and dicing up blocks for my National Days scrap quilt project and have now made my way halfway into July and arrived at National I Love Horses Day!

For this block, I revisited the block I did for National Unicorn Day, got rid of the horn, changed his tail and mane a bit and gave him some bangs.

Thanks to @heatherlynwhite for her creativity and first turning the unicorn block into some horses and a zebra way back in 2020, by eliminating the horn unit! These are so cute! She inspired me to rework this block for I Love Horses Day!

I love creating patterns, but I love, even more, seeing what you guys do with them!

Here's how this little pixel-y pony goes together.

Assemble as shown below, being sure to use SCANT quarter inch seams. (If unfamiliar with scant vs. regular quarter inch seams, click *HERE*.)

You should have an 8 1/2" horse quilt block. (8" finished in quilt.)

Thanks for popping in to check out this quilt block for horse lovers.
🐴 Stay tuned next time for another July food block. Hmm.. what food is July weather perfect for? 🌞 I'm excited to share it! Meet you back here soon!

Until then, Happy Stitching! I'll leave you with a sweet horse pic from my cousin's farm.💓

P.S. I love to see blocks and quilts that are made with any of my patterns. If you make any and post on social media, please come find me in any of the places listed below, and tag me so I can see! :) If you're on YouTube, check out the short musical video tutorials of some of these blocks. I'm hoping they might inspire kids, or anyone really, to learn to sew. :) Plus, they're just fun to do.
