Polar Peekaboo New Quilt Pattern!
3:37 PM
Peekaboo! hehe
Meet the animals of Polar Peekaboo! Coming to shops this month. And in my Etsy shop now *HERE*. There's the eyebrow arching penguin, the nosy polar bear, and the eyelash batting narwhal..
The eyebrow arching penguin was a bit of serendipity.. I didn't realize his eyebrows were uneven until I sat down to write the pattern. I immediately went back to the drawing board to even them up. Then something magical happened.. his personality disappeared! This penguin NEEDS to be arching an eyebrow! It gives him a little bit of attitude and gives the quilt a little movement. Really, though! *Please don't think I'm weird.* haha!
I super love this quilt! It uses all traditional piecing techniques, no paper piecing. I would say it's confident-beginner friendly. If you can do a corner flip you can make this. And I have lots of examples for that here in various blog posts.
It finishes at 56 x 56".
It was tested by @amyjodubya (that's her IG handle) and her quilt turned out so cute! Not only that, but she said it was a really quick quilt to piece. She was able to stitch it up in a couple of days in her free time! And it's already been claimed by a family member. 💗
The narwhal eyelashes and blushing cheeks make me smile! :)
I originally did this design for the new Deena Rutter/Riley Blake fabric line called Nice Ice Baby, that is coming to shops this month. They are also doing Polar Peekaboo kits with it! At least that's what I heard from a shop owner who said they had ordered kits..
Thanks for allowing me a little shameless self promotion today. lol You guys are the best! I love seeing all of your creativity!
Another National Day block should be posting tomorrow. Keep an eye out for that.
Happy Monday and have a great week!
As always, Happy Stitching!
xoxo,

P.S. I love to see blocks and quilts that are made with any of my patterns. If you make any and post on social media, please come find me in any of the places listed below, and tag me so I can see! :) If you're on YouTube, check out the short musical video tutorials of some of my block tutorials. I'm hoping they might inspire kids, or anyone really, to learn to sew. :) Plus, they're just fun to do.
I'm keeping all of the National Days blocks organized on the National Days quilt blocks page *HERE*, if you're looking for any of the 100+ blocks I've posted so far. Getting closer to my goal of 144 blocks! If you know someone who loves Minecraft, Pokemon, and or Harry Potter, check out these free sew alongs, too! :) And if you're looking for any of my print patterns, or other fun quilty gifts, check out my Etsy shop here. Be back soon!
xx

This is the most adorable pattern I have seen in a long time. I don't have any "kids", but there are plenty of "adults" on my list. Thanks for your creativity.
